Kitty Lab in Singapore!

Kitty Lab ticket!

Kitty Lab is in Singapore from the 14th till 29th November at the Singapore Expo, Hall 1! Of course I had to go there because it is Hello Kitty! Also, I went there on a Tuesday evening because the ticket prices are cheaper on weekdays, except on Friday. Since it was a rainy evening, it was pretty creepy and quiet as I made my way through the Expo from the MRT station. Hall 1 is way over at the other side of the convention halls so it’s quite a long walk to it.

Photoooo...

Okay, no photography or videography in Kitty Lab so I didn’t take any. However, there’s a photo op where you can get your picture taken and buy it at the end of it all! I’m holding a KTA there in my hand. It’s Kitty DNA and the colours on her cheeks glow and change colours. Once you get in Kitty Lab, you are handed a KTA and they brief you on what it is and thus, you make down your way to the first stop!

Dr Kitty!

This is Dr Kitty! You enter her little lab thingy where she’s sitting there with her assistants. A real life person in a lab coat (all HK staff in that area are wearing special lab coats by the way) tells us what happened “yesterday”! Apparently Dr Kitty had a explosion and that’s why her hair is like that! However, this leads to the discovery of Kitty DNA which leads to much oohs. Seriously, if brought a bunch of children to this, it would be pretty amusing and cute. Tra la la, a video plays and we see what happens and stuff and off we are led to the main entrance of Kitty Town!

Our mission, to make sure we get our KTA, the thingy which we hold on to to make our own kitty by going at every station.

Map of the town!

It’s pretty amazing that they built/brought the whole freaking town in! I was amused that if you lose or damage your KTA somehow, you can go to the visit the police station and report it. There’s a guy there dressed as a Japanese policeman. At least, a Japanese policeman from a Hello Kitty world since his outfit was the light blue anime/manga type.

So lalala, you go around the whole town which isn’t too insane big but still pretty big to play the games at each stop to get the characteristics chosen for your kitty. The games are like wii games where you have to shake/make slurping sounds/ wave your hands/etc at the machines.

Kitty Lab card holder and card!

Considering I went on a rainy Tuesday evening, it was relatively quiet and I could breeze through the stations without much of a queue! Go there with friends for maximum hilarity so they can cheer you on! The staff are very friendly by the way. Ah yes, when you actually get in the place, you get a cardholder with a lanyard. See the right? Once you finish all the stations, you return your KTA and get to see how your kitty turned out on a card!

My kitty.

Um yeah. She has a moustache. If you lose in one of the games, the machine chooses an option for you instead! HOWEVER, it is a MOUSTACHE OF AWESOMENESS so that’s okay. She’s got a diamond ribbon and her outfit was actually red and black including her guitar! heh.

Good citizen badge!

Oh and if you finished the whole place in under 45 minutes, at about 35 minutes or so there, you get a good citizen badge! I scanned it in cause my camera kinda died on me, hence the weird scan lines and all. It’s actually a bronzy colour and you can wear it! Pretty easy considering there was no crowd that evening. Heck, only the really extreme HK fans went that evening since it was seriously that rainy.

Kitty Lab ticketing counter closed for the night.

By the time I left though, the ticketing counter was closed. They close at least 60 minutes before the last time so get here before 8pm if so. Naturally, after going through the whole town and actually going to the Expo and stuff, I had to buy some stuff from the souvenir shop. You can check the items at their website before heading there. Credit card/NETS/etc are available and someone before me was buying a few hundred dollars worth of HK goods.

Dr Kitty is British!

As seen above, I bought my photo. It came in a “Kitty Report” envelope. It has much info on Dr Kitty! I didn’t know she was born in London…

The frame and stickers.

My photo came with the frame and stickers! That’s a spare photo ticket I had because I didn’t like my first pose.

Recycling bag!

And this is a recycling bag! It’s actually in the shape of Kitty DNA! It unzips and turns into a cloth bag which is pretty cool. Heh heh. So that’s it! Exhibition lasts only until the 29th. Happy birthday Hello Kitty! considering this is her 35th anniversary. Huuur.
