Budding Writers League Sci-Fi/Fantasy Chapter
Venue: Programme Zone, Clementi Public Library
Date: (Thursdays) 27 June, 25 July, 29 August, and 12 September
Ages: 13 – 28 years old
Calling budding writers and fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy! If you are a fan of writers such as Neil Gaiman, Jim Butcher, Time Powers, and Simon R. Green, then this 4-part workshop is for you.
Participants will learn the art of writing urban fantasy stories. Topics covered are:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Building your protagonist/antagonist
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Defining your environment
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Creating the perfect plot
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Identifying the fantasy tropes
-Â Â Â Â Â Â What you need to know about publishing
We will be meeting up once a month on a Thursday evening. Participants who are interested to join us for this workshop must submit their story idea or an excerpt of their story of 2,000 words or less. Limited to 15 participants aged 13-28 years. Bouncy castle! Yay! You know what would make this more awesome? A Milo truck. But we can’t have everything. At least, I don’t think there would be one. Still, a picnic!
I’ll bring my own Milo or tea and ukulele. And probably try out some songs and record some videos there or something. It will be fun.

The F1 Building is near the flyer and was closest to Promenade MRT station. Well, I followed the map and did end up at Savour 2013! That’s a very fancy food convention. I was there because HBO Asia invited me for their Game of Thrones screening!
