I got invited to the media meet for International Cosplay Day Singapore aka ICDS because I’m one of the media partners for this event! WOOOH.
Let me give you the short details.
It’s on 24 August at *SCAPE and starts from 11am to 7pm.
There are a few price ranges this year including free. SO YEAH. Do look at the price ranges on their website here including where to buy the tickets.
And now, what is going to happen there?
Well, lots of stuff is happening on that day and if you were just an attendee, it’s going to be fun since there’s games too.
Some of the sponsors were there at the media meet. This year when they said *SCAPE is a sponsor, it really is going to be a major *SCAPE location cause it’s going to be on a few floors of it!
What I’m looking out for is the E.P.I.C cards launched on that day. These are the designs for the membership cards that will give you discounts at places like freaking Cosmoprof, Basheer books, Straits Arts Co, Summoner’s and more!
Basically all the arty, craft, make up, gaming places that most of us might go to. And the membership is going to be just $5?!
I foresee that these cards might run out in their first ‘run’ so do get the membership as soon as possible because it is going to be so freaking worth it.
If not at ICDS, these cards will be available for sign up on the Neo Tokyo website but wait for that after the launch, heh.
I hope I get the cleric aka the girl one because for reasons.
OH YES, besides these cards, it’s going to be super fun day with games. There’s a ‘bingo’ card set aka ConQuest in which if you take selfies and get bingo, you get a lucky dip!
If you complete all squares, you get to get into the grand draw for prizes.
NOTE: BUY A FREAKING PREMIUM TICKET.
Ok guys, here it is. Just buy a ‘rare’ ticket which is just $10. If you get to complete your ConQuest bingo, you can get a chance to win the special grand draw. BUT I SHALL ELABORATE MORE BELOW. LATER. YEAAH. The prizes are very cool.

Kamui is going to be there, giving her talk about armour making at 1pm-1.45pm. Of course she’ll be there for her meet and greet session too but if you want to attend to her talk, you’ll need to buy the epic or legendary tickets.
Jay Tablante, the famous cosplay photographer will be there too. Unfortunately his latest book will not be available for purchase yet but there will be preorders at the event so that once his books are ready, it’ll be mailed to whoever wishes to order then.
Oh did you know Kamui’s and Jay’s books will be one of the prizes for the premium Conquest grand draw? Besides lightsabers, gaming gear and shopping vouchers?
ALSO DID YOU KNOW THAT THE LEGENDARY TICKET LETS YOU HAVE A FREAKING PHOTO SESSION WITH JAY AND KAMUI?
Let us step aside and think, “Hmmm, is a legendary ticket worth it?”.
Do you have an awesome cosplay outfit that you wished to have a photoshoot with? Then yes. Yes this is so freaking worth it like woah. You can see the above picture, that is one of his works.
EDIT: (29 July) Just got back from organisers ok it is even more worth it. You get to LEARN how to do a photoshoot with Jay and you get to shoot Kamui. OK LIKE THIS, it is worth it for photog enthusiasts and cosplayers too.

While I cannot confirm what he will or not be wearing, the organizers have arranged with whoever the winner is to have a dinner at a restaurant. It will be fully paid. So food and nice company, that would be good, yes? And it’ll happen on the same evening of ICDS.
So whoever wins and if you’re wearing some complex outfit, I’m just going to imagine a reverse Sailormoon transformation here in which whoever you are will suddenly turn fancy for the evening to go to this dinner. Whoever who wins this, I hope you blog your experience or something.
Oh yes, you can also attend his talk if you have the epic/legendary ticket. Nearly forgot that, ha.

ALRIGHT, so what else is happening on ICDS? For cosplayers, there will be a rest area and storage for your props and such sponsored by Garena.
There’s going to be an exclusive first time anywhere preview of Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm. Anime quiz challenge (sign up in groups of 3) and so much more.
This year’s cosplay chess is in a different format too, this year, the audience aka YOU will make the call of who wins the duel for each move. We’ll see who wins this time…
