Happy Chinese New Year!

If you’re eating baulu, this is how it is made traditionally. I got to visit Joelyn to see how it is made (and eat it, hurhurhur).

I’ll have you know freshly made baulu is so, so good compared to baulu from the tupperware.

My friends and I have now a new tradition of taking a group picture in Overwatch during Chinese New Year since they have the place decorated! Also, it’s quite fun since we’ll be wearing our nicest skins just for the occasion.

Like how one really does real family/friends CNY photos at home.

And that’s it for this week.

It’s a chill week although, I’m checking out 2018’s All In! Young Writers Festival to see if I can volunteer for one day.

What Sarah Did: January

Was that me, did you think it was me and weren’t unsure? Well, these are my appearances in January that I know of. Let me know if I ever miss anything cause somehow I’m randomly around like an NPC?

Episode 3 of Buzzing Hawkers: https://video.toggle.sg/en/series/buzzing-hawkers/ep3/563248

I got to eat food, it was interesting being a taste tester. I did like the lamb chop.

The ministry of finance did a thing where they hired StarNgage, an agency for influencers and just tossed money to them to get their influencers to talk about Budget 2018.

I took the hashtag and did get top post in those weeks so HAH. Anyway, was it a good or bad thing the ministry did?

BAMMM I learned I made an appearance in this article which has a marketer’s point of view on it which was pretty insightful. You can read the article here:

Should the Finance Ministry Have Used Bad Publicity to Amplify its Influencer Campaign? by Logen Lanka :

Also here is a bonus:

This is my own “media” so I don’t know if it’s considered a cameo but if you’re following my instagram or youtube, I’m posting up food videos and have a #foodfriday thing too.

Kayak 1 Star – Getto!

Ok.

I saw this post by Ministry of Adventure last month during those flash floods. The copy was loltastic, it was this:

Is urban kayaking something you always want to try?
Wanna kayak alongside stalled vehicles and people standing on benches at the bus stop?

Now here’s the chance for you! We don’t know when will the next chance come, but we will be prepared when the next flash flood is here!

When?
The next heavy downpour

How to join?
Throw away everything you are doing and race to the flooding area the next time it rains. People stuck in their car or bus stop are welcome to join in the fun. Kayaks not included.

Where?
East side of Singapore

What if I don’t have a kayak?
Box, container, bathtub or anything that fits you will do too. Swimmers are also welcome.

Is it suitable for kids?
Kids are advised to stay in school or home. The frustration of the working crowds stuck by the flood can be dangerous.

What should I bring?
A change of working clothes so you may also kayak to work

How much is it?
It is FREE! You may even earn some bucks by kayaking people to their workplace!

See also our hiking along MRT track during train breakdown event which happens every month on our Facebook page!

Loltastic but I then went “Oh?? Ministry of… ADVENTURE?” and if you have stuck around my blog long enough, you’d know I like adventure. AND OHHHHH. OHHHHHH THIS IS A GROUP that actually teaches you skills that I like in my list of Lara Croft checklist. (It’s somewhere, I forgot where but it’s there anyway.)

And their next event was a real event called 1 star kayaking certification.

A Valentine’s Day Special

Hi, you guys might know I volunteer at Love Kuching Project.

You can donate in cash to them through money transfer, their bank account name is Love Kuching Project, the bank is DBS Bank, account number DBS Current 027-907655-0.

Or there are instructions here on the Donate Page too if you don’t know how. OR you can donate in kind by buying kitty litter or food here: https://www.polypet.com.sg/index.php?route=product/category&path=227_236

With that, this VALENTINE’S DAY, I am doing a special. Because I’m making chocolates* for self, I might as well use up all the ingredients and proper box for you**.

SO THIS IS GOING TO BE THE ANIME/MANGA CHOCOLATE EXPERIENCE.

  • For at least $150 (donation to Love Kuching Project), I will make small box of chocolates, go up to your address*** on V-day evening (14 Feb) or you let me know your timing for Wednesday, I could even try make it on lunch/afternoon depending on my schedule and hand it to you and run away. (Tier 1)
  • $250, I will do the same but slam the chocs against you for those who like tsunderes and say “I did it for the cats, not you ok! Bakaaa!” and then run away. (Tier 2)
  • For at least $500. All of the above but I demand you eat the chocolate on the spot and ask “So… so how is it? They are my rejected ones so don’t expect anything great!!!” But in reality they are the best pieces I’d make for the batch. And then run away. (Tier 3)
  • For $1000, all of the above and a secret “confession” letter hidden in box with a picture of one of the LKP cats or choice of Dawn the cat pushing my face away pic as a thank you note keepsake. And then run away. (Tier 4)
  • BONUS: I might call you senpai
  • DOUBLE BONUS: It might involve a ridiculous costume so don’t expect anything romantic.
  • Notes: YOU CAN SABOH YOUR FRIENDS OK. All in the name of CATS. You don’t like humans, nevermind but you like cats can help them like this.
  • Don’t have enough as an individual? Pile up that money with friends to get at least the first tier.

ALTERNATE ROUTE

  • If you buy kitty litter or food that didn’t hit the $150 range, you won’t get chocolates but just a digital picture of me saying thank you with Dawn the cat.

The deadline for this ‘preorder’ is 12 February so I can prepare the ingredients and box ok?

HOW to get this?

  1. Go donate to LKP and email me a picture of your donation transaction. Either it is the cash tiers or the food route, you need to have proof you did it. My email is sarah(at)seriouslysarah.com
  2. Duh, when you’re emailing the transaction, you better be fast when I reply to you because I’ll ask where/when and arrange when on 14 Feb to do so.
  3. Get ready to receive chocolates or get scolded in a tsundere way

*Chocolates = I’m not a chef so it may/may not taste awesome

**You = whoever is reading this and hopefully is in Singapore unless you wanna send me a plane ticket?

*** Location better be east or central because I’m not travelling all the way to the west.

Munah & Hirzi Live: Curtain Call… After the drop

Munah & Hirzi’s Live: Curtain Call was on 24th January 2018, starting at 8pm.

But this was queue at around 6pm.

According to the ticketing site, this was going to be the event for their closure of their channel.

How do you say goodbye to 10 years?

For ONE NIGHT ONLY, pioneer prince and princess of the local YouTube scene, Munah Bagharib and Hirzi Zulkiflie or also known as MunahHirziOfficial(MHO), are bringing a night of hilarity (and heartbreak) as they celebrate the end of an era; their final curtain call; the closing of their YouTube Channel.

From the humble beginning of putting out guerilla-styled videos, attempting dares to well-produced music parodies, the dynamic duo has been making millions laugh-out-loud since 2007. With more than 142, 000 loyal subscribers on the MHO YouTube Channel and a resounding 32 million views on their channel, be prepared for the most epic send off of the decade.

Yep, this was going to be their finale so of course I had to attend it.
