Logitech M585 mouse review!

This time I got to test out the Logitech M585 mouse! Yes, this is a logitech mouse review. I was ordering it through Lazada at night and well… I was delivered the next day?! I was very surprised at the shipping speed. In any case, this is under the exclusive Logitech online store on their site. I got other stuff too like wireless keyboards but that’ll be another post.

So how’s the mouse?

Well, firstly I had to open it and I am so glad it’s easy to take out without scissors.

No more accidentally stabbing self with knife/scissors when there’s a perforation to break the plastic out at the back.

And it comes like this! The battery is supposed to last for 24 months so we’ll see…

The little bit is your unifying receiver dongle thing if your computer doesn’t have bluetooth.

But firstly before you use it, you need to install the driver which is on the instructions. It’ll lead you to Logitech Options.

Ok, here’s the thing, I tested it with a few computers. If you have the latest Windows OS or the latest Apple ones, you’re safe. This mouse will work for you.

I tried it on an older system and it couldn’t recognize it but this shouldn’t matter if you’ve updated your OS.

If you’re using a pretty old computer, a wireless mouse might not work for you and a new mouse is probably going to be one of the last things you need to update.

So how do I find it? It’s a pretty decent mouse with rather precise scrolling if you like to read or have to read work documents. It has two side buttons which you can programme in Logitech Options and oh… One of the neatest features is this…

You can switch the mouse on different computers. That’s why it’s an “Option”, you can programme the “1” to be on one computer and then “2” on another. It works best if one of the computers uses bluetooth so that your other computer can use the unifying dongle if it doesn’t have bluetooth on it.

With that, I TESTED OUT SOMETHING ELSE.

Did you know the Logitech M585 let’s you “flow” from one computer to another? It can copy paste text too so if you’re using this in an office and you’re on two computers, you don’t have to email it to yourself or use a thumb drive. Just copy your text and scroll past your computer’s monitor to get into the the computer and paste.

And yes. IT DOES WORK for Apple/PC. Whatever you prefer to call it Mac or Apple, Windows or PC, it just works ok? You can look see my video.

So what do you think? I’m definitely stuffing this mouse into my laptop bag for my “grab and go” work set.

If you want to get this mouse for the month of October 2017, it’s 15% off their usual price and I also went to a specific bookstore that’s pretty popular here and it’s definitely cheaper to get it on Lazada.

Buy the Logitech M585 here (you’ll be clicking on my affliate link and that helps me out too when you buy!) or check out other exclusive Logitech items that Lazada has to offer here.

I put on Rubbers on my screen

Hey, I reviewed Rubbers (2014) by Yew Kwang Han, a local movie and you can read it here on Catchplay (I think it’s only geolocked for Singaporeans or maybe SEA?): https://www.catchplay.com/sg/ed-says-article-1363-icsth6pc

Here’s some iconic screenshots I like:

It’s one of the more safe for work ones. THE REST AREN’T.

So go read my review.

Or just watch it on Catchplay.

Lifesense Band 2

Hey everyone! I got a lifesense band 2 to try out. It’s a step tracker with a heartbeat monitor. With all these healthy life style things that the government is promoting especially after the national day rally, items like these help you track and kind of give you a goal every day to keep to get fit.

I’ve my own mifit, fitbit alta and a free one I got during Health Promo board’s thing. Unfortunately that free one couldn’t sync to my phone and the mifit couldn’t sync to my phone after some of their updates (my friends who got it also had that issue after some software updates) that I gave up on it.

So hey, sometimes cheap or free trackers really depends on your luck or pretty much… your phone OS.

Oooh, it’s a pretty simple quick start guide, there’s a QR code inside for you to download the lifesense app (available both on iOS and Android) and another page with a QR code for you to scan your lifesense band 2’s serial number.

Logan – Older, Fuller, Sexier

Hi everyone.

Before I start anything, I want to tell you that Logan is a very good movie.

I won’t give you spoilers but it is beautiful (and M18 for the violent gore and language).

I wanted to watch it before I did this post because everyone else (Red Dot Diva, HereBeGeeks and even Mothership?!) wrote about it. The it, that was Absolute Comic’s review on wanting Laura to be older, fuller, sexier.

This is the tale of someone in that company being an utter dolt about social media because right now, the post has been deleted but it has sent ripples through the geek/pop culture community who actually buys stuff from that shop.

RDD and HBG pretty much tells you what happened and WHY it is bad. Let’s forget about Mothership, they’re just in it for clicks with that vagueish fact article.

I’m just gonna tell you why that review pissed off a heck load of people.

SCREENSHOTS from various people by the way.

On March 2  Absolute Comics trended on twitter. This was the first time a local comic store in Singapore trended on twitter and it was because of their movie ‘review’.

Buy Alienware Dell ?

You might be searching for alienware dell support or alienware dell help. Or even alienware dell singapore support or alienware dell singapore help.

This is page is not help.

And even if it was, you’re still not going to get help.

This is not my computer, but it’s my pal Pris. She bought an Alienware Dell PC including additional warranty and all she got was crap.

TL;DR if you wan to skim through:

Alienware Dell support is nonexistent in Singapore. She bought warranty. All she got was frustration as tech support bounced her around. They’re using outsourced tech support people and even they are frustrated at the parts Dell gave them. Refurbished motherboards that do not work. And she had to go through all social media channels to get help because their official lines didn’t.

The ‘tech support’ want to do it during office hours when she’s at work and that’s stupid. She managed to get it ‘post 6pm’ after complaining so much but the computer still doesn’t work since they didn’t go through it properly. As of now, her computer is still NOT working. Do not buy Alienware Dell. If you can help Pris get a new computer, even better. Please help. Alienware isn’t.

AND NOW FOR THE STORY because you all like drama.

Seriously Sarah’s Official Response to Kelly’s Apology

This post is about this: http://mothership.sg/2016/11/teenage-magazines-aunt-kelly-gives-victim-blaming-advice-to-girl-who-was-raped/

and the eventual ‘apology’ here: http://teenage.com.sg/campus/dear-kellys-official-response-and-apology/

Dear Kelly,

I sincerely apologise if my response to your apology will come across harsh and… No. I’m actually not apologizing at all.

My response takes into consideration of many of the commenters and the people who actually buy the magazine so that they will not engage in such risky behavior such as writing letters to you and this is also aimed at warning my readers the consequences they face should they engage in asking advice from a magazine.

Throughout my response, I am blaming you. You are not naive. Your apology is not for you to give your own reasons or excuses that your focus was for her and the reasons to learn that certain actions have consequences.

You were focusing more on your own reasons rather than actually apologizing and stating why your article was detrimental.

You wanted everyone to know the ‘danger of sending the wrong signals’ while you were giving plenty yourself.

I know you are a total innocent. Yet I can’t help wonder how a poly student could be so naive? … Frankly, I understand why the guy misunderstood your acceptance of the invitation.

There. That is not helpful at all since you are deemed as siding with the guy when all she wanted was your help and support.

Sure, you have no intention of ‘victim blaming’ as stated in your apology but this is now an attempt to point out one’s actions have consequences and the sad fact, for you that everyone is commenting at, is that you are terribly out of touch.

No one can be more sorry now for this girl than all of us who have read your advice. If you are the girl who wrote the letter, please ignore her advice and know that we support you and there is a helpline at AWARE or even by email which you can find out more here.

If you genuinely care for your readers and truly, if you have built a warm caring relationship, I hope you would never downplay the seriousness of your own actions to have negative consequences.

We don’t care about your disclaimer about condoning pre-marital sex or not. We care about you giving actual helpful advice.

You are only gravely sorry that this response has garnered a negative response. And you apologized if your response has upset readers while hoping after your explanation that we would understand where you are coming from. No. We did not want to understand where you are coming from, we wanted an apology or at least an apology to the girl WHY your advice was bad which you clearly did not do at all.

Your whole apology was just a bunch of reasons trying to show how caring you are without actually caring. There is a difference.

And if your bio is true, with counselling primary and secondary school students since the 1970s. I think you’re due for a refresher course. Because you’re terribly out of date with your advising or counselling techniques.

Seriously Sarah

After never qualifying as a teacher or not even wanting to be one, Sarah never attended any counselling workshops but she darn heck knows what the heck is bad advice. Over the past 20 years, she has been invited to eat dinner with friends and gives talks to random people at conventions. She also engages in Overwatch gaming. In the 1980s, she was born in one of those years and was a baby. Since 1996, she learned how to read.

Urban Armor Gear!

The box!

Ok, I’m just gonna say you can get your Urban Armor Gear at Lazada on my link here because at least they’ll deliver to you at Lazada.

You can still get the cases in store though cause I’ve seen them around (just make sure they’re genuine?).

I’m stating this now cause it’s gonna be ‘holiday’ season soon and it’s best to get your phones protected before you go on trips and try take pics with your phone etc.

The SAD thing is that I’m using an OPPO so I can’t use UAG cases.

Heck, for my specific phone model, I can’t even get nifty cases so the second best way is… GET MY FRIENDS (they use more mainstream phones) to use the cases cause when they’re on adventure with me, well, what better way for them to take pics of me instead?

NYAHAHA.

Anyway, tl;dr version. If you can afford your phone, you can afford this case to protect it. Yes, it has more colours than pink and also, it has protectors for ipads, Samsung, macbook airs and even Surface Pros.

Anywho, I passed this particular case to my friend since she accompanies me to events and stuff too.

The Huntsman Winter War

The Huntsman Winterwar

So I watched The Huntsman Winter’s War when 3 of the stars came by to Singapore. I won passes from Resorts World Sentosa (you should like their facebook, they have contests at times!) and got to watch it before it premiered everywhere here.

So yessss.

Also here’s going to be a non-spoilerific review. I LIKED IT. Some didn’t but I DID.

Plus, there’s one scene that is obviously cut in the middle of smooching.

This movie is a pre-sequel. Ignore the trailers, it is the before AND after of Snow White and the Huntsman.

What I liked about the movie is that:
