And I Prefer Moroccan Mint Tea

Hello people, if you’ve read Soulless and Changeless by Gail Carriger, this might make sense to you.

My friends haven’t all read Blameless yet so I am resorting to post my SQUEE here. This will have spoilers after the more cut. However, for those who are going to read this, I have prepared you a menu. I have not included what the werewolves and vampires are eating for obvious reasons.

If Alexia is not smacking things with her parasol, she surely is eating!

Blameless: The Menu

Chapter 1

Kippers, soft boiled eggs, fried eggs, sausages, scones, toast with a choice of butter or marmalade and barley water

Chapter 3 and 4

Toast and tea

Chapter 5

Large leaf Assam tea* (Favourite of Alexia’s)

Chapter 6

Bland food cooked over steam engine – Porridge?

Raw vegetables (crudités) such as carrots, red bell peppers, asparagus spears and celery sticks, meat pâté, nutty digestive biscuits served with weak tea

Chapter 8

Croissants, basket of kumquats served with Earl Grey tea,

For lunch: Roasted winter vegetables, fruit, cold poultry, fluffy crispy bread such as sliced baguettes, flaky pastry served with tea and milk.

Chapter 10

Sliced melon, apple, ciabatta bread, hard sharp cheese served with coffee. Honey and milk available* (preference of Madame Lefoux’s for her coffee)

Chapter 11

Pesto, cantaloupe and prosciutto ham.

Chapter 13

Apples, bruschetta and hard boiled eggs with pesto

Chapter 15

Pesto spaghetti pasta

And now onwards to where I squee.

I’m not Blameless.

This is technically the books I’ve read in the past week but it’s going to be of a more fangirl squee worthy discussion post because why not? Firstly, let’s just do this:

  • Talk Nerdy to Me by Vicki Lewis Thompson – Chic lit. Lots of technical nerdy engineering puns, a bit far fetched with all the sexy coincidences but the dialogue is pretty fun. Pretty enjoyable if you want something fun and silly (as most chic-lit books go) to read.
  • Soulless by Gail Carriger – Steampunk lady with a very good parasol for whacking people. THIS IS GOOD if you like strong heroines, interesting co-starring characters and the supernatural! Also, hot werewolf guy lead too
  • Changeless by Gail Carriger – Sequel to this! Once you read Soulless, you want Changeless.

I might be saying Soulless and Changeless briefly here because after this “more” cut, it’s going to be a bunch of fangirly squee. WARNING, if you don’t want spoilers, don’t click it! Too bad for those on Google reader or assorted rss readers OR those linked here straight away. THIS IS NOT A REVIEW POST, THIS IS A SQUEE POST.

You’ll be able to see the whole post without a cut so if you don’t want spoilers stop reading here and get the books pronto instead.

Have a book trailer of Soulless if you haven’t a clue how it is!

Books I’ve read for the past week or so

Okay, onwards with the list, the books I’ve read so far for the past week or so:

  • Smoke and Ashes by Tanya Huff
  • Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs
  • Demon Chick by Marilyn Kaye
  • The Spy Wore Silk by Andrea Pickens

I actually have a comment on these books so I’ll put them after the cut! You want to know their exact summaries, go check Amazon or some other shop website since they have blurbs.

Books I’ve read so far

This is pretty much a list of books I’ve read so far. At least from what I remember since I figured I might as well see what books I read in a year. There’s a meme going on back then in my friends list in another online blog about reading 100 books in a year but I definitely went over that.

Too many books to hotlink to their amazon/author pages so just check it out on your own if you think it looks interesting. This is just a list, not a review but if you want to know more, you can always comment to ask about any of the specific titles.
