One of the things in the list of things to do in the SDS list was to go to a board game cafe. It’s pretty much everywhere or at least, they’re at accessible parts in town and in some malls. You can choose from De Coder’s Cafe<\/a>, Pitstop Cafe<\/a>, Settlers Cafe<\/a> or The Mind Cafe<\/a>. I don’t know if there’s any more but those are popular.<\/p>\n

We settled for The Mind Cafe at Boat Quay since Jo<\/a> wanted to play Adversity. As you can see, we were actually early since the place opened at noon. Nonetheless, other people were waiting too, heh.<\/p>\n

It’s GAME TIME<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Prior to this date, Jo had called them up to book a table so they knew we were coming. Weekends are always busy times, you see especially for large groups. The menu has deal rates, we took the weekend special since it meant $12 for four hours, free flow of drinks and a discounted rate on meals there.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

However, since it’s fasting month, I just shoved one of the drinks to the rest. No diff really since it’s a free flow thing.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And so we started our game. We kinda asked the staff there how to play it since a refresher was needed and off we went! There were two other large groups at the third floor too and they were noisy. This is actually typical because you’ll make a lot<\/em> of noise when you’re playing games such as these.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

So we started our own games after trying a few. Since Jenga wasn’t available, they gave us Uno Stacko which pretty much is a more colourful version of it. In any case, it’s mucho fun if you have large groups. The Boat Quay’s branch has three floors, I think. That or four since it leads up and up. You are told which floor and table once you tell them how many people are in your party anyway. The first floor had tables for two so it’s a much quieter thing there.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our party consisted of very literary and wordy people. Also, we have a tendency to lean towards explodey or sparkly things. Either way, we saw this game called Pass the Bomb! You roll a dice and activate the bomb, it’s like one of those parcel games where instead you need to pass it off before it makes an explosion sound. How to play? There’s a card stack and when you roll the dice, it will show that you will need to use the word (eg. “fre”) either in the beginning of the word, middle or end.<\/p>\n

We changed the rules a bit by allowing any language to be used so… That was very<\/em> interesting.<\/p>\n

I should start a new tag for my posts here. If you noticed in previous adventures, we are very<\/em> good at spotting things such as typoes etc. At least one of us will notice anyway and I’d gasp, “Oh my!” or something. Try to spot what’s weird with that sign. You should<\/em> be able to read it, or just use your comp’s magnefier to do so.<\/p>\n
