A Better Florist than me

I didn’t know A Better Florist was actually a real shop! I mean, there had to be one because it does free same day deliveries of bouquets and flowers but I thought it had been in some “industrial”or some hipster space because it was founded like a startup.
It’s actually a real florist shop, of course mainly they deal with online purchases but ok, what a revelation.
Anyway, on a nice Saturday afternoon I was there to join their flower arrangement workshop. It’s usually held twice or thrice a month and you can look at their flower arrangement worskhop classes here on their Event Brite.
So you know, instead of just buying bouquets from them, you can actually learn how to make a basic one.
Firstly, we learned how to dethorn our roses and there is a “kiap-er” which helps you take out the thorns. Our instructor told us to leave a few leaves (heh) on top for aesthetic and guided us step by step to prepare the flowers, their names and the type of plant they are.
I mean, you get a bunch of flowers but you need to still pretty them up by removing leaves, thorns, stray stems and all.

Logitech M585 mouse review!

This time I got to test out the Logitech M585 mouse! Yes, this is a logitech mouse review. I was ordering it through Lazada at night and well… I was delivered the next day?! I was very surprised at the shipping speed. In any case, this is under the exclusive Logitech online store on their site. I got other stuff too like wireless keyboards but that’ll be another post.

So how’s the mouse?

Well, firstly I had to open it and I am so glad it’s easy to take out without scissors.

No more accidentally stabbing self with knife/scissors when there’s a perforation to break the plastic out at the back.

And it comes like this! The battery is supposed to last for 24 months so we’ll see…

The little bit is your unifying receiver dongle thing if your computer doesn’t have bluetooth.

But firstly before you use it, you need to install the driver which is on the instructions. It’ll lead you to Logitech Options.

Ok, here’s the thing, I tested it with a few computers. If you have the latest Windows OS or the latest Apple ones, you’re safe. This mouse will work for you.

I tried it on an older system and it couldn’t recognize it but this shouldn’t matter if you’ve updated your OS.

If you’re using a pretty old computer, a wireless mouse might not work for you and a new mouse is probably going to be one of the last things you need to update.

So how do I find it? It’s a pretty decent mouse with rather precise scrolling if you like to read or have to read work documents. It has two side buttons which you can programme in Logitech Options and oh… One of the neatest features is this…

You can switch the mouse on different computers. That’s why it’s an “Option”, you can programme the “1” to be on one computer and then “2” on another. It works best if one of the computers uses bluetooth so that your other computer can use the unifying dongle if it doesn’t have bluetooth on it.

With that, I TESTED OUT SOMETHING ELSE.

Did you know the Logitech M585 let’s you “flow” from one computer to another? It can copy paste text too so if you’re using this in an office and you’re on two computers, you don’t have to email it to yourself or use a thumb drive. Just copy your text and scroll past your computer’s monitor to get into the the computer and paste.

And yes. IT DOES WORK for Apple/PC. Whatever you prefer to call it Mac or Apple, Windows or PC, it just works ok? You can look see my video.

So what do you think? I’m definitely stuffing this mouse into my laptop bag for my “grab and go” work set.

If you want to get this mouse for the month of October 2017, it’s 15% off their usual price and I also went to a specific bookstore that’s pretty popular here and it’s definitely cheaper to get it on Lazada.

Buy the Logitech M585 here (you’ll be clicking on my affliate link and that helps me out too when you buy!) or check out other exclusive Logitech items that Lazada has to offer here.

Hunting down the geocaches

Saturday was mainly for doing influenza things but I managed to meet up with Raven Silvers for a few geocaches.

Ok firstly we met up near Wisma and just stared at the staff making Pablo cheese tarts. It’s pretty soothing and fun to watch them pour the cheese into the crust and pretty much bake it.

After that we went hunting for geocaches!

This was also where the alleged Ixalan (Magic: the Gathering) trackable was last spotted but NO. IT IS GONE so oh well. Gotta be vague cause we don’t want spoilers for people who hunt down caches.

We got to at least log down and oh, maybe next time I’d leave something for the next geocacher to take since there’s space for small things.

WHERE ARE YOU IXALAN TRACKABLE? If you’re still in Singapore at least I can log you.

Then we had lunch at Cineleisure because there’s this new fish and chip shop there in the basement. Still not yet time for me to head to my own thing in the afternoon so we squeezed in another hunt.

Anyway, IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE THE IXALAN TRACKABLE IN SINGAPORE IS… well, comment me. I want to hunt it down.
