There’s a 2016 meme happening now in 2026 where you look back in pictures 10 years ago on instagram.
I looked back into the my Facebook album since I remembered if I posted any pictures then, it would be there carefully saved in its own year’s album.
And then I realized that was the year I went to Japan for the first time with my friends.
While the destination is wonderful, that wasn’t what made me stop and go “Huh”. Cause 10 years later, I’m still with my friends and we still adventure together.
Whether it be locally in Singapore, to the neighbouring country Malaysia, across the seas to Thailand and of course Japan, we’re still together and I’m grateful for that.
It meant we still knew how to schedule things, took time in consideration for everyone’s pitstops for specific location, even the kind of accommodation to share.
Maybe we’re just good planners or that we really just took note of everyone’s needs and made sure we all could be chill on what’s a need or knew what alternative activities we could do too if one of us were tired or had different places to go to.
Whatever it is. That’s at least 10 years of knowing how to plan with them! And that’s kinda lovely. You don’t realize it until you put it down somewhere or look back in pictures and go woah, that’s a pretty long time.
I hope there’s going to be a meme ten years later and we still can look back at our pictures together to see where we ended up. Hopefully, happily?
