SDS 2.13 – Angel of Music

No. We didn’t go out for a green tea adventure. This time, we were off to *SCAPE for some karaoke. On our way there though, we got ourselves some free green tea. Yay for free stuff in town! Yes! Karaoke!

First, to the loo but eh, this is weird. There’s a cubicle with a person with a cane. Can’t they use a typical wheelchair sign to designate the toilet instead? Thus, I was calling it the old person toilet. Huh. ANYWAY…

To K Box at *SCAPE! Ask me not how to pronounce the * in front of *SCAPE but it’s there somehow (asterisk scape?). And so, we queued up and pretty much got the large room (it isn’t really large but enough for the four of us! Mintea, Jo and Avariel plus me obviously). Apparently Mintea hadn’t gone to karaoke before so HAH! Here we go!

Four people, large room and 2 hours worth of karaoke. Drinks are included and we all chose rootbeer. Once paid, we were led to our room and off we started!

A touchscreen! Waah! This is certainly new to me. The last time I went to a karaoke place, you had to use the remote for your choices.

And on the wall was this panel! Due to the low lighting, heh most of the pictures are blur. If you can’t read it, the bottom buttons say applause, cheers, whistle, jeers and service. Those buttons are fun, heh.

I find that singing off tune or in weird voices the best way to enjoy karaoke. It’s not about how well you sing, it’s about how much fun you have with your choices. Meanwhile, the room next to us was singing some techno song of sorts?! The rooms are generally sound proof but woah, we could still hear them from inside our room.

Another fun thing is that some videos have no correlation to the songs that are being sung to. They provide such distraction especially when we were trying out Evanescence’s Bring Me to Life and this guy was walking along a swimming pool and for some reason he fell into it? TOTALLY no link to the music at all!

So that’s done! Karaoke-ing! Fun when you’re with a group. Just weird if you do it alone at a karaoke place. The hours will pass by faster than you know it when you keep picking songs and wailing into the microphones provided!
