Reading Between the Lions

(Aka the semi-secret writers reading event that Sarah hopes won’t be too crowded after posting this info up because if it is, then gosh darn!)

Time: 7pm to 9pm,
Date: 3 June 2009
Location:
Polymath & Crust, 86 Club Street, S(069454) Tel: 62229195

READING between the LIONS

Join Wena Poon (“Lions in Winter”), Suchen Christine Lim (“The Lies That Build A Marriage”), Alvin Pang (“City of Rain”) and our very special mystery guest writer for an evening of fun, fiction and intergalactic mayhem at the all-new bookstore POLYMATH & CRUST.

Who are they?

Wena Poon, author of the Singapore Literature Prize-shortlisted Lions In Winter, will read from her literary fantasy series, Biophilia, which will be launched at this year’s Singapore Writers’ Festival.

Suchen Christine Lim, Singapore Literature Prize winning novelist, will read from her stunning and provocative repertorie of stories about secret lives, unsung loss and forbidden love in Singapore.

Alvin Pang will host, and perhaps even read some new stuff.

PLUS – Mystery Guest, guaranteed to please!

Ooooh, well hope to see you lot there. I shall be there-ish if anyone decides to say hello to me or something. I don’t know who but, well if you want to that is.

MEANWHILE, the Popular fair is on at the end of the month!

popularfair

It’s in celebration of their 85th anniversary! The times and dates for it goes like this:

Location: Singapore Expo, Hall 6B
29 May – 10am to 1pm (for only POPULAR Cardmembers), 1pm to 10pm (Open to Public)
30 May till 7 June – 10 am to 10pm

That’s not all! Apparently they have autograph sessions and stuff on the various days. Here’s the schedule I got from Popular’s page here.

Yes, I have no idea why a pilates demo is in there along with Mediacorp autograph sessions. Well, anywho… it is a POPULAR fair which means saaaaales of books. Have a look see and don’t bring babies along cause seriously, at least not on the first day since it’s bound to be crowded like heck.
