Being literary and other stuff.

Mind you, a disclaimer, I’m totally not a judge of any official writing events or an award winning writer or some teacher or whatever. Heck, you can even see that I’m not writing “proper” here. I am just me. A normal typical person.
Okay, I had to laugh insanely a bit there at the previous line.
ANYWHO! Yes, from my observations, you need the 3Ds to win story competitions in Singapore. Mind you, the 3Ds don’t count if it has a specific genre like chic-lit or romance or science fiction (I forgot the name of that event but yes, there was a sci-fi comp for students last year or so).
You need the 3Ds to win in open story competitions where you’re allowed to write whatever story you want. Only you know, that’s not true. You’re allowed to write whatever story you want but the winners will always be the ones that have the 3Ds. What are they?

Huh, I saw this when I was at Popular bookstore. The Young Immortals by James Lee. Yes, the guy that brought you Mister Midnight. The one on the left is a notebook by the way. Apparently you get a free notebook if you buy the book within this period (while stocks last)!
There won’t be a session in May, sorta since most of the people are at weddings/school trips/ projects/etc.
Just a note.
We’ll be back on schedule in June.

Got this from Borders. Author appearance on 16th May, Saturday at 2.30pm. The competition that you can win a breakfast with Cathy Cassidy is here. Entries close on 13 May 2009 so the page will be probably down after then.
The last time there was an author appearance at Borders, lots of fans queued up and all. So be sure to get there early to have a good spot in the line if she’s doing autographs!
Commonwealth short story competition – Deadline: 11 May 2009

Hohohoho… Yesssss, well okay one of them isn’t a book launch exactly. One’s a reading and discussion while the other is a book launch.
