It’s a new season of Sarah Does Singapore! If you don’t know this series, it’s me going about Singapore and having adventures.
Well, it’s a new year and all, so it’s BACK! If you wonder what’s up with the titles for the posts in this series, it’s songs… for a Playlist. This song if you want to know for this episode.

They have single sessions where you can just pay for one session, a package deal (check their website to know more) and a package deal where if you have a buddy it’s cheaper.
Or if you check out their facebook, there might be special promos.
It’s the fourth season of CiNE65 with the theme of Home ◠Truly.
Yep, when you say the theme, you know how the song goes.
It’s a short film competition organized by Nexus, Ministry of Defence and this time, with this time they hope to inspire more Singaporeans to reflect on their hopes and dreams for the nation.
TL;DR : Join it, it has an open and student category, you’re able to win prizes like $3000, Panasonic 4k camcorder, learning trip etc. You like making videos? Just join it.
The morning of when pokemon was released in Singapore, I actually dreamed of it and went “Huh, I dreamt that Pokego go released secretly in one morning” but I had a feeling it was that day.
And then… it really was.
Which is a nice coincidence. Anyway! It’s amusing to see that many people are coming out in twos, threes or in little groups as they walk about together.
There’s so many posts about it but eh, here’s my tips for you to pokego in Singapore.
Free wifi in malls, banks, Starbucks, McD’s etc. You don’t have to use your data if you’re gonna sit in a mall. Just log on.
NTUC and malls (well, hospitals too but if you’re there then uh, please take care of your health or the person you’re visiting instead) have free charging points. You can charge your phone but you have to leave it in the little ‘charging corner thing’ OR charge your powerbank. MRTs have free charging stations too for your devices. Don’t be a douchecanoe, don’t hog the charging points if there aren’t many. People might need to charge their phones to contact people in emergency.
Stop standing in the middle of nowhere. Switch off AR to catch the pokemon since it’ll stop it from ‘moving’ about and easier for your to throw them pokeballs. Do this discreetly like you’re whatsapping. You can walk and swipe it up. If you want to park, park yourself near walls and away from people to prevent yourself from bumping into them.
Bring water if you’re going to walk a long while. If you want to hatch a poke-egg with 2km or 5km. Maybe you should check out the running routes available in SG so you can have nice scenery too. The usual races in SG are 5km for basics too so WOOH, you can even join a run or something.
Look where you are going. Like oh mein Gott. LOOK WHERE YOU ARE GOING. Don’t be a noob.
Help out younger players or like, look after them that they aren’t going where they’re not supposed to be. Do the neighbourhood pal thing and whatnot, they’re excited pokemon trainers too.
Check out offers!! Malls, cafes, restaurants are now providing discounts for poketrainers or you can win vouchers and stuff. Just look about, sometimes they will have some soooo why not make the best of it? Heh.
Really, I usually google “discount code for X shop†and then try all the codes of whatever I find and then go boohiss because I can’t find any for the ‘local’ online stores here when it’s not sale season but they seem to have them!
OR if not discounts, how about getting your cashback?
You can find out more on ShopBack’s faq but the tl;dr version is you get cash back after you paid the full price of the thing you wanted. You can then cash it out into your bank account once you hit the minimum of $10 of cashback in your ShopBack account.
It shouldn’t be new to you if you’ve ever done an Aunty thing and used specific cards at specific stores to buy things full price and get cashback because you used the card.
So this time! You can actually get cash back by buying stuff on the online stores and going through this. HAH!
Anyway, you can save with Lazada coupons, that’s where I got my medikit, tactical pens and stuff you can use for props or gear.
If not staycation, vacation is also ok because there’s going to be an upcoming Comic Art Festival in Kuala Lumpur in 28 and 29 May. SO HMMM, anyone wants to go for that?
I went to Leap Day geocaching event in Singapore on 29 February 2016 (Duh). The coordinates were pretty much obvious and there were instructions on where to find them.
Since I was in the area, I took a more scenic route and went past the Civilian War Memorial.
If you guys noticed, if you went via underground routes, it feels so much longer to get to the other buildings?
You’re right.
I read/watched a report on tv once when they had descendants or families of those buried(??) there who got to check the place out. I mean, it’s special access only for some memorial anniversary or something but tl;dr what I remembered is that there’s a cemetery underneath that they don’t want to disturb because it’s the war memorial’s.
Nifty huh?
Also they probably don’t want to scare people and tourists about it.
