Harry Potter Party
I am making this post as unassuming as possible because for those who know it… KNOWS IT.
Harry Potter Finale Party in Singapore
Your host: Me (with the crew of Dumbledore’s Army helping out)
Location: Multipurpose room of National Library (it will be called Room of Requirement there)
When: 9 July, 6.30pm-8.30pm
What will happen? Games, quizzes, cake! Discussions and whatnot. Come in house colours or your costumes! It’s a fan event by fans. I’ve got more info coming up with some downloadable coupons and also tutorials on making robes… But I won’t put them up yet.
In the meantime, want to win a trip to LONDON to catch the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows party 2? Well, click on this link here. I’ve asked them, if you win the ticket, you’ll be able to catch the one in London AND make it back in time for the Singapore party.
So… I’ll see you lot there if I see youuuu.
Saturday is the day after Friday

Ahhh, lots of events on Saturday, 28 May!
Firstly, there is an Intro to Creative Writing talk/ workshop at the National Library, Multipurpose Room, basement 1, 2pm. It is FREE so come on by if you want to talk or learn more on creative writing and ask questions on it.
Secondly, we have a discussion talk that is FREE too at Spore-Con! That will be from 11am-12pm. It is about Writing Genre Fiction in Singapore! Click the link to know more plus you might be interested in going for some of the tournaments or games at the convention itself.
Yes, we’ll be going to Spore-Con and then to the library! Do come for either though the one at the library will be more on writing while the one at Spore-Con will be more on a discussion of the state of writing genre fiction here.
On the side that is not organized by us, there will also be The Asian Festival of Children’s Content! That is not free though and you have to pay for the conference fees. That will be at the Arts House, just in case you’re heading that direction and wondering what is up with all the people since the Cats of the World exhibition is there too.
Lastly, there is a Superheroes as a social commentary talk at the Esplanade library at 4.30pm by a screenwriting lecturer from the Puttnam School of Film, LASALLE College of the Arts.
What is up with Saturday indeed. Well, I hope to see at least some of you guys at either the library or Spore-Con!
From the past to the future!
It started at Raffles Hotel. Well, the group was to meet up with the I Heart Museums people at the bus stop nearby first! The crew and I were to go on a Journey Through Time – A Fantasy Tour by the National Heritage Board. FYI, the next trip is on March 12 and 13! For those interested in it, you can find out more and email/call them here. Make sure you call or email them before 7th March for it!
OK, the intro to this whole thing, I saw the tour tickets being a prize on Yesterday.sg and then looked at the actual website for this tour and went all, “Heck it. I don’t want to have a chance to win tickets, I so totally want to be on this!”.
Thus the crew signed up for it too because the summary was this:
Join characters Julia and Meng, magically transported from 1914, as they visit our iconic National Monuments and give first-hand accounts of olden day Singapore. The tour, which takes participants to Raffles Hotel, St. Andrew’s Cathedral and the Armenian Church, will focus on the contributions of the Armenian community in Singapore as well as other prominent historical figures. Additional tours will be held on 12 and 13 March as part of Illuminate 175, a special event celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Armenian Church, the oldest church in Singapore. Suitable for children 10 years and above.
Oh heck yes.
Sarah Does Singapore – Season 2 Finale
That makes 50 episodes of Sarah Does Singapore, not including the season finales! And so, let’s do the Playlist for season 2. Woaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Also, for you guys to know where the song titles come from, they’re here in the playlist and the description of each of the episodes!
SDS 2.23 – Party People
We had the kick off party in episode 17. This time is the Thank Goodness It’s Over party at the Earshot Cafe over at The Arts House.

SDS 2.19 – Use Somebody
On a weekday evening, the crew and I headed to 15 Minutes cafe. We were going to do something that we haven’t done before (as usual for Sarah Does Singapore anyway) and this time it was doing a performance at a cafe! Heh, another take of this episode is by the Magical Harkow.
Yes.
SDS 2.18 – Memories
SDS 2.15 – More Than Words
The crew went to the former supreme court where I would still call the old supreme court for BarCamp SG 6!
