THIS is a semi advertorial food blogging post. Because I got to try McDonald’s new breakfast items via the OMY.sg people. Semi advertorial because I wanted to try it in the first place but then since I got the chance to be invited, OOH OK-LOR!

We had A Speculative Fiction Tea-Party (With Less Tea and More Writing) at the Earshot Cafe at The Arts House. It was by June, Dave Chua, Joyce Chng and Alvin Pang.

Our pieces are done! And displayed! Wooooh. No, we didn’t do all that. It’s all contributed by everyone who attended the workshops or mini shows or did private group sessions.
Anyway, this will be at the National Museum of Singapore until the 24th March 2013, it’s near the back of the museum, past the shop and it’s free to have a looksee!
ANYWAY. My pal Wesley’s having a session at the Arts House this weekend. Y’all know where the Arts House is right?

Better known as a filmmaker, Wesley Leon Aroozoo’s first stab at writing for the stage resulted in a provocative story about loss, searching and accepting one’s own demons. Bedok Reservoir was inspired by the spate of drownings and suicides in Bedok Reservoir and delves into a dark side of Singapore not openly discussed. The play and novel version of the story was recently published as a duo print in which the endings are different. Not a bad accomplishment for someone who almost failed his ‘O’ Levels English and could not get into a junior college.
Join Wesley as he discusses his journey to becoming a published playwright and author as well as why he channels his creativity through so many different outlets.
This session is moderated by Ghazali Muzakir, a filmmaker and theatre practitioner.

PUN IN THE TITLE IF YOU GET IT. Anyway, this time it’s zombies. Or rather a promo for Warm Bodies! I read the book (yes it’s a book by Isaac Marion) and it’s quite sweet and full of hope. Not sure how the movie adaptation will be but it has high ratings on IMDB too.
I wanted to go to a Font exhibition (yes, I know, it sounds super arty and stuff like that) but it was closed. Instead, have a post about Nana’s Green Tea because we went to the shop TWICE in one day at Plaza Singapura. (Click this link for the Singapore branch.)

We went to the Public Garden flea market at the national museum. Since it was free and guess what. Free entry to the exhibits at the museum too! Woooo.
Mangafest 2013‘s events for the weekend was held at The Arts House and Kinokuniya at Ngee Ann City. The Arts House’s exhibit was from 10am to 8pm. I lurked outside, eating my Old Chang Kee porridge as I waited for my friends to arrive.
And good grief… It was Saturday morning and I saw lots of people going up to the second floor where the exhibition was held at the Gallery.
Technically we went to Beanstro on that 19th Jan after we went to the SG Handmade Movement. The branch we went to was the one at Ngee Ann City, the one with Takashimaya. Mind you, this is our experience with Beanstro for that day and it was awesome.
A few notes, Beanstro is the fancier version of The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. It’s got more food than their regular cafes. From the moment at this post, we only know that there’s one at Marina Bay Sands and just this one at Ngee Ann City. That’s it.
Also, wanted to put in the whole menu of Beanstro in this post but decided it was too much so heck that. You’ll get the price range idea with what we ordered cause we ordered quite a bit anyway!
